Water

Out of all the things that are different about England I think the one that I miss most is drinking fountains. Everywhere I go, I am subconsciously looking for one. We walk to church and I'm parched but there are no drinking fountains to be found! I feel so dehydrated.... I'm going to have to start carrying around a water bottle. They don't know what they're missing out on!

They have NO drinking fountains? Maybe they're cleverly disguised as lamp posts or something . . . .

Things in England that are different than Salt Lake

Dr. Who rules
things aren't shipped out, they are dispatched
if you're "knackered" then you're tired/worn out
they pronounce garage "gay-ridge"
they often omit "the" such as "I go to university" and "He's at hospital"
weird flavors are really popular like ginger and blackcurrent
they have balls, as in dances
nobody really dances (real dance)
a hot day is 26 degrees, which is really 80 degrees
no fettucine alfredo
still have not found any root beer and no one has had a root beer float
if your phone has been nikked, it was stolen
people don't make chocolate chip cookies, they makes things like carrot cake and cupcakes
a theatre is live and the movies is the cinema
vacation is called a holiday
when crossing the street you look right left right
instead of "how are you?" it's "are you all right?"
they don't use measuring cups when cooking, they weigh everything
clothes sizes are different
pop cans are smaller
you don't get a ride somewhere, but a lift
more nutella, less peanut butter
the most common kind of potato chip is salt and vinegar
no Mexican food really
doors that you push and doors that you pull look exactly the same and most of them don't tell you which one....
dinner is "tea"
music notes are called semi-breves, minims, crotchets, quavers and semi-quavers
whole milk has blue lid, 2% green and 0.75% purple; haven't found 1%...
the university hands out fliers advertising this weekend's rave
no pandora
no Cafe Rio
no one has ever heard of gelato
zucchinis are called "courgettes"
mathematics is called "maths"
binders are only 2-ring
the normal paper size is slightly bigger
elementary schools are called primary schools
one doesn't go to the bathroom but the "toilet"
there are double decker buses
"dodgy" and "brilliant" are some of the most common words
they have much more history
they keep their houses and buildings ten degrees colder
Celsius and the metric system rule
they use pounds and pences
7:00 PM is really 19:00
vacations are "holidays"
there are 11 digits in a phone number and they aren't broken up
underwear are "pants" and pants are "trousers"
it's always raining
the washing machines are in the kitchen and look more like dishwashers
everyone has tiny cars, most of them hatchbacks
everything is much smaller (houses, cars, roads, stores, etc.)
houses down one road can all look exactly the same
they drive on the left side of the road
there are much more bakeries and little shops
the light switches are backwards
they always keep the fork in the left hand and knife in the right
you do much more walking
no hulu
the outlets are HUGE!
